Suitable for a wide range of applications

Seal-Lok meets or exceeds the requirements of both SAE J1453 and ISO 8434-3 and is ideal for projects that require fittings to withstand high pressures, vibration and impulse.

The Parker Seal-Lok ORFS Fitting Difference

The Parker Seal-Lok ORFS Fitting Difference

EXCLUSIVE SEAL-LOK ADVANTAGES

TRAP SEAL™
The patented trapezoidal seal of the Seal-Lok tube end allows for maximum O-ring retention in the Captive O-ring Groove (CORG). This advantage over the competition increases the productivity of assembly as well as offers the maximum assurance for a leak free connection. Ultimately, operational and maintenance costs can be avoided.

TOUGHSHIELD™ PLUS
Parker's Seal-Lok steel tube fittings and adapters come standard with ToughShield Plus zinc nickel plating, protecting your equipment significantly longer than other commercially available plating technologies. In ASTM B117/ISO 9227 neutral salt spray testing, ToughShield Plus resisted red rust for up to 3,000 hours. See www.toughshield.com for more information.

ROBUST PORT STUD
The adjustable port stud is manufactured with a longer locknut designed to cover the uppermost threads. Since the backup washer is never exposed to the upper threads, it cannot be damaged during assembly. During assembly, exposed upper threads, which are common with fittings from other fitting manufacturers, can lead to a deformed backup washer that can pinch the O-ring and create an o-ring extrusion gap that has the potential to leak. The longer locknut also provides a greater grip area for the wrench for easier assembly.

FASTSEAL™
Previously, it was necessary to flange or braze hydraulic tubing to make ORFS connections. Now, using Parker’s new patent-pending FastSeal, you’ll only need a wrench and your tube. An evolution of proven connection technologies, FastSeal combines Parker's robust bite ring and innovative seal dynamics to create a quick robust flat-face tube connection for Seal-Lok ORFS fittings.

ORFS FITTING DESIGN ADVANTAGES

SOFT SEAL LEAK-FREE DESIGN
The main feature of the O-ring Face Seal design is the flat face of the fitting, which incorporates a CORG with an elastomeric seal. When connected to a flanged tube or hose end, this flat face creates the most effective leak-free connection.

ZERO CLEARANCE
The flat face of Seal-Lok allows for easy and fast drop-in installation. This reduces rework costs from a design and assembly perspective. Maintenance cost can be avoided due to the time savings of disassembly and assembly.

UNLIMITED REUSIBILITY
When a Seal-Lok connection is completely assembled and disassembled, very little metal is distorted in the connection. So, Seal-Lok allows for unlimited reusability in the field, reducing the component replacement and maintenance costs of the connection.

HIGH PRESSURE RATING
Seal-Lok offers a high pressure rating which can be used in a wide range of applications. This provides the opportunity to standardize across multiple product lines, saving procurement and inventory costs.

RESISTANCE TO OVER-TORQUE
The minimum requirement for a Seal-Lok connection is to withstand 200% torque above the rated value. This reduces the frequency of metal distortion and the potential of leaks. Seal-Lok reduces production assembly and maintenance costs by its resistance to over-torque.

VIBRATION RESISTANCE
Seal-Lok ORFS connections are good for high-vibration applications. ORFS fitting connections are known to reduce loosening caused by vibration, which can often be an issue of high-vibration applications. See the Seal-Lok O-ring Face Seal Vibration Test data report now.

Not all ORFS Fittings are Created Equal

When it comes to connection reliability, not all connections are created equal. It's well known that O-ring Face Seal fitting connections produce the most reliable leak-free connections. However, not all ORFS fittings are created equal. Parker has created many enhancements to the ORFS design that has taken this reliable connection to the next level.

Seal-Lok™ for CNG

Seal-Lok for CNG fittings

Seal-Lok for CNG fittings are tailored to accommodate unique natural gas attributes. They provide reliable fuel conveyance using an elastomeric seal compound made of hydrogenated nitrile that improves ozone resistance and supports wider temperature and pressure range requirements. In addition, it’s a great solution for high-vibration, on-vehicle applications where metal-to-metal sealing is not up to the task. Seal-Lok for CNG is fully tested by TUV (NGV 3.1, ECER110, ISO 15500), and recently passed Bonfire Testing in accordance with ANSI/CSA NGV2.

Seal-Lok™ Xtreme Fittings

Extreme temperatures and chemical compatibility concerns can pose challenges to elastomeric sealings in LNG applications. Parker Seal-Lok Xtreme offers an alternative to the sealing capability of O-ring face seal SAE J1453 connections in these critical applications.

Seal-Lok Xtreme improves durability with the use of a patented stainless steel metal sealing ring. This Parker innovation achieves superior tube and hose connections at temperatures as low as -328°F (-200°C) and as high as 1200°F (650°C).
